drawsta Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the drawsta iPad application. By downloading or using drawsta, you agree to them.

The app

drawsta is a free drawing app for iPad. It lets you draw freehand, trace reference images, and browse an inspiration feed of openly licensed and public domain artwork.

Your content

Everything you create in drawsta belongs to you. Your drawings are stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your personal iCloud account. We claim no rights over your work and have no access to it.

You are responsible for what you create and for how you use it. If you trace or incorporate a reference image, whether from the inspiration feed, your photo library, or anywhere else, you are responsible for making sure your use of the resulting work respects any rights that may exist in the source material, particularly if you publish, distribute, or sell it.

The inspiration feed

The inspiration feed displays images from third-party sources, including museum open access collections, Wikimedia Commons, Openverse, the Internet Archive, Apple Music, and Are.na. These images are presented for inspiration and personal practice. Attribution and source links are shown where the license requires or where available.

We curate sources in good faith toward public domain and openly licensed material, but we do not own this content and cannot guarantee the licensing status of any individual image. Rights information travels with each image where the source provides it. If you believe an image in the feed infringes your rights, contact us at the address below and we will review and remove it promptly.

The feed depends on third-party services we do not control. It may be unavailable, incomplete, or rate-limited at any time.

Acceptable use

Do not use drawsta to violate any law, infringe anyone’s rights, or attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or abuse the app or the third-party services it connects to.

No warranty

drawsta is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that your content will never be lost. Back up work that matters to you.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, artwork, or profits, arising from your use of drawsta. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed fifty US dollars.

Changes to the app and these terms

We may update, change, or discontinue the app or any feature at any time. We may update these terms; the current version will always be posted at this address with its effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
